Until now bedridden patients were either moved with floor lifts or manually by multiple healthcare support workers. Transfer chair can also replace complicated and bulky lifts and slings, which are very expensive, not easily portable, need learning to be operated safely, require extra manpower and are not safe for the patients.
There have been reports of fatal incidents while using manual /electrical or roof mounted lifts and slings. Some reports state that patients were fatally injured and died while mounting or transporting due to fall from these devices.

While the patient is on the bed, a family member/ caregiver sits the patient on the edge of the bed with legs hanging down. Easymobility transfer machine is then rolled under the bed and the patient’s feet are placed on footrests. While front wheels are locked, the chair’s sides are now moved behind the patient and while doing so the patient’s right knee is slightly raised and the chair’s right side seat is moved under the patient’s right side. Similarly left side is moved and both the safety locks at the back of seat are securely deployed. It is absolutely important to ensure that both the safety locks at the back of the seat are properly closed and checked before the device is moved from the bed at this point for the patient's safety and to avoid accidental falling and injury. Then after unlocking the front wheels and securing the patient by the front safety belt, patient can be moved to the desired area. If shifting to the couch is intended, then the height of the couch should be according to transfer chair height as chair height cannot be adjusted after the patient is sitting on the chair.
Apart from being used as a wheelchair It can also be taken to the toilet or shower as it is waterproof and washable. This chair also reduces the risk of cross-infection of COViD-19 as the caregiver and patient are at a distance and unlike other wheelchairs, transfer devices or commode chairs where the caregiver has to bend to reach the handles of the chair and while doing so they reach quite close to the patients face, whereas the hand bars of easymobility chair are raised so caregiver stands erect during transfers thus maintaining a reasonable distance and saving self as well as the patient from cross-infection. Also, this chair comes with two separate holding grips on both the handles, one for the caregiver and the other for the patient respectively, so they do not transfer the infection to each other. Since the chair is made with high quality waterproof material it can be washed with soap and water or disinfectant or wet wiped before using again thus reducing the infection rate.
